Mipro renews the remote control for the Seinäjoki-Oulu track
Mipro to renew the remote control for the Seinäjoki-Oulu track on the Finnish west coast
Mipro has entered into an agreement with the Finnish Transport Agency to build the new remote control for the Seinäjoki-Oulu track on the west coast of Finland. The remote control renewal covers the track section Seinäjoki-Kokkola-Ylivieska with 22 stations that Mipro will provide with the new computer-based remote control equipment. Mipro’s MiSO CTC traffic control systems will replace the existing remote control based on the Ericsson mimic panel.
The MiSO CTC systems to be delivered are provided with the train number function and with automatic functions also. The new remote control is integrated into the existing MiSO CTC traffic control systems in Oulu and Seinäjoki.
The remote control renewal for the track section Seinäjoki-Kokkola-Ylivieska is related to the total renovation project on the Seinäjoki-Oulu track section and it is used to prepare for the upcoming commissioning of the double track on the Kokkola-Ylivieska track section. Mipro’s computer-based remote control enables flexible traffic control during the double track’s building phase. The track section can, for example, be controlled in smaller sections when required by the building work on the track. In the future, the track section can be controlled from the control centres in Seinäjoki, Kokkola and Oulu.
The remote control renewal project also includes the Ykspihlaja marshalling yard where Mipro will deliver the remote control and the interlocking system. The interlocking system project started in May 2011 and will be completed by the end of the year. The remote control renewal implementation is scheduled for the years 2012 and 2013.
